Some hints and tips for your pizza event

Making your event special is what we are all about. We love to make things as easy as possible for anyone who is booking through Wheel Pizza. We’ve pulled together our best tips for organising catering for any event.

Know your dietary requirements

Understand what your guests may need in order to be able to enjoy pizza as much as you do. A great way to collect requirements is asking when invites are sent out (whether they are digital or paper based). Dietary requirements can be handed straight over to the Wheel Pizza team before the event and we will work with you to cater for everyone.

Understanding your dietary requirements early can help with choosing your pizza selections for day. We have a range of vegetarian and vegan options as standard on our menu. We are able to adjust any of the pizzas topping to avoid allergy concerns.

Our pizzas bases are sourdough meaning that they are suitable for most gluten intolerant people (just ask Alex in our team!), but we can provide gluten free bases for Celiacs on request.

We also use a combination of hard cheeses in our pizza cheese blend meaning that an entire pizza will have 1g of lactose on average! This means that our pizzas are also suitable for anyone who may be lactose intolerant.

Think about your set up space

We find the most cost effective way to serve pizza is buffet-style or direct to tables. This allows guests to grab pizza as they are hungry and avoids the additional costs of service staff. By letting us know which you prefer we can make sure we are set up on the day to accommodate. We bring our own buffet table and serving trays on the day, so you don’t have to.

Where do you want us to park?

Do you have a space that is suitable for a trailer to parked? Our pizza trailer is 6m long and 3m wide when open (5m by 2m when closed). As we have a 3 tonne trailer we need to be able to access the trailer with our vehicle. For fire safety, ideally the spot should be flat and avoid any tree or roof coverings.

Determine your service time

We will arrive 1.5 to 2 hours before your requested service time. This is so we can heat up the oven and have it at temperature to cook your delicious pizza. If our arrival time clashes with anything else important on the day, please let us know so we can adjust our arrival time.

You may also want to consider if there is any waiting time before guests are able to start eating. By providing pre-dinner food, such as grazing broads you can keep hungry guests at bay and keep the alcohol consumption lower. If you would like to add a grazing board to your catering package, we can help you with that.

We also recognise that the catering can sometimes be a smaller part of a huge day (like a wedding) and there may be scheduled time for speeches and pther activities. Sharing these times with us allows us to time pizza cooking so we can make sure pizza available is hot and not sitting out going cold.

Pick your pizzas!

This is the most fun part as you can pick what suits your tastes and event style. We have a menu of over 30 pizzas which include classics, gourmet, vegan and delicious dessert pizzas.

When selecting your pizzas start with what you love. Which of our pizzas do you really want to try on the day? From there you can start to think about any kids that may be attending or special dietary requirements. If you don’t have dessert organised for the day, you can opt for one of our unique dessert pizzas.

Don’t forget, we can also take special requests. A few of our menu selections have come from requests from our amazing clients!
